Also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), it is a minimally invasive procedure that uses tiny needles to create microscopic trauma to the skin, which generates the formation of new collagen. This procedure creates smoother, firmer skin. It’s primarily used on the face to treat wrinkles, pores, and texture. It can be used to diminish the appearance of scars and stretch marks.
Making facial expressions, such as squinting, frowning, or smiling, along with frequent sun exposure, can cause fine lines and wrinkles to develop over time. Non-invasive procedures such as Botox® and Dysport®, with Botulinum Toxin Type A injections, temporarily relax muscles to prevent fine lines from developing and soften wrinkles. The most common areas treated are the forehead, between the eyes, and crow’s feet. Results typically become noticeable, on average, 3-7 days after injections, although individual results vary.

Restylane® products are made of a gel-like substance called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that’s already found in your skin. Results of dermal fillers vary from 6 to 12 months.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) plasma facial, or also known as facial rejuvenation, contains several growth factors to help stimulate the fibroblasts and build collagen. Benefits of the PRP are using your own growth factors to help reduce wrinkles, plumps skin, and can decrease inflammation. If you suffer from rosacea, it can help in some cases to decrease the redness and promote healing. You can even have the PRP injected, especially under the eyes, to help with dark circles. Using PRP with microneedling gives you optimal results.
The best candidates for PRF for hair restoration are people with androgenic alopecia, which is thinning on top of the head or widening of the part with normal hair. PRF works best for people with hair loss for less than three years.
On average, you will initially need one treatment a month for 3-4 months. If the hair loss is moderate to severe, you may need 5-6 treatments initially. After completing the initial series, you will need maintenance once every 4-6 months.
During treatment, your blood is drawn and spun down in a centrifuge to separate the platelet and plasma. Once your platelets are separated, they are injected into your scalp.
PRF results will vary. Some people will notice a decrease in shedding as soon as a few days after the first treatment. Others may need more treatments before they see a decrease in shedding. Some people feel that after the second treatment, their hair feels thicker, and the texture has improved. It is possible that some people will not see any changes for up to 8 months.
Some medical conditions and medications may cause PRF to be less effective. It is important to consult with a provider before proceeding with treatment.
